Prado 4.0 6 speed automatic versus previous 5 speed?

Up until a few days ago,I did not realize that the Prado 4.0 V6 is available in South Africa in a 6 speed Auto! What I would like to know from owners of this new model, has the fuel efficiency improved compared to the older 5 speed Auto? Something else I would like to know is whether the vicious hunting between 5,4 and 3 on the old gearboxes, still occurs on the new 6 speed box? Any comments will be welcomed.Thanks.

I have the same 6 speed box on the 2.8 diesel. It may behave differently on the V6, but mine seems to work well. I tend to lock it in 'sports mode' 1-4 in town to prevent it try too hard to use the high 5&6 ratios.
