Noise under drivers floor panel offrroad

Just got a 2011 GXL prado manual transmission. When offroad and the drivers front wheel slips, there is a grinding noise under the drivers seat and the slip light/traction control flashes. Am in 4lo when this occurs. Only seems to happen with the drivers side wheel. Can't hear noise on the other side.... Any ideas?

Traction control applying brake to whichever wheel.
The traction control solenoid/valve setup is located in front of drivers feet.
I suspect that's what your hearing.

Yeah I figured it would be related, but didn't think it should be so noisy? I first thought we had bottomed out on the hill we were going up, it's that loud...

It's quite snappy. Louder on traction than it is on ABS.
