RPM at 100km/h

Hi Folks,

What is the RPM when running at around 100km/h with the auto and manual 150 series ?

I have a manual diesel with about 6000 on the clock.
It sits on about 2400 at 110 on the highway.

The 120 sits at 2000rpm at 100kmh (6th gear). I am very happy with that.

The auto sits at just under 2000RPM at 100km/h

The Auto Petrol GXL 150 sat at 1800RPM @ 100KPH and didn't change if set cruise control on or off.

The VX revs about 2100rpm at 115kmh

Has anyone taken the new 150 down steep terrain? I'm wondering what the Low Range 1st gearing is like, i.e does it crawl down without the need for any braking (just use engine braking etc). Not really interesting if any fancy electronics enabled, i.e crawl DAC etc more interested in raw gearing. I'm trying to decide between manual and Auto, leaning towards Auto.

Not really the thread for that question rptprado but anyway - yes the auto crawls down steep stuff beautifully in 1st low range without DAC switched on, I always use the brakes where there are steps or large rocks involved (naturally).

Thanks Jase150. I just read my subject heading should have read 100Km/h of course ;-). The confirmation that the TD auto won't "runaway" down steep decines is comforting considering my current pertrol 90 auto requires some breaking down steep slopes. I'm a newbie to this forum which discussion should I post threads regarding transmission/ gearing ratios ?
