Is this normal?

Hi

2010 auto GXL.

I have noticed when i'm in say 2nd gear. If I put my foot down and watch the revs, sometimes it will just sit on say 2000rpm and barely move even though the vehicle is accelerating quickly. Is this normal or is there an issue with the gearbox or torque converter not locking?

I'd say normal. The torque converter is slipping to multiply available torque, when you back-off or hit the right conditions it will rev higher and/or grab the next gear.

I've got a 2012 auto GXL and it does the exact same thing so I'd say it's normal.
