Afternoon everyone, trust it’s been an ok weekend.
I’ve just picked up a 2014 (built June 2014) Prado with 190,000 kms. I know it’s service history and how it’s been driven for the past 5 or so years (it was my parents). Has been serviced well and according to schedule (often doing a quick oil and filter at the 6 month mark depending on kms travelled since previous service). Car had about 2.5 years in Western QLD on a mix of dirt and bitumen roads.
once you drive it for an hour or so, or take it to 100kmh for a bit (then come back into town) there’s a rotational ‘tweet’ somewhere - sounds like the front end. We refer to it as a small birdie stuck somewhere. I had brakes serviced and changed, but this has not resolved the issue.
I’ve seen plenty of Prado squeak threads, but they seems to be belt or suspension related.
Any solutions? Or has anyone had this pleasurable experience of driving around with a tweet, tweet, tweet haha?!
Thanks a million. Tristan
