  • Diff (R+F), transfer case oil non-Toyota

    Hello Team,
    Happy New Year!
Time to start the DIY process for rear, front diff, transfer case oil change. Web and Google are overloaded with information. What are we all using for these 3 oil changes? Brands grade etc. It is an early 2014 1KD. Next in line is transmission, I am told to leave it to the experts!
    Cheers.

Diffs and TC, I use Penrite.
Transmission is genuine Toyota fluid only. My reasoning is that you can't get all the fluid out so probably not a good idea to mix fluids.

Thanks amts, so basically sticking with the grades as per the book being, 75W-85 GL5 for diffs and SAE75 for transfer case. I was just wondering if there was some view on another grade that would work better. Cheers.

Diffs: Penrite Gear Oil - 80W-90. 2x2.5L bottles
          T/C: Penrite Trans Gear Oil - 75W-90. 1x2.5L bottle

I use pro-gear 75w-90 full synthetic. 90w is mainly due to the fact im running 33s and often loaded to gvm with occasions where i tow a small trailer.
