  • Diff & trans breathers.

    Hi to all.

We are planning a Vic High Country trip in a couple of months & I want to fit extended breathers to the diffs & gearbox, transfer case.

The rear diff is easy to find & I have removed the front bash plates to look there but time got the better of me.

If anyone has some advice on where to find the breather points it would be greatly appreciated.

    2016 model with manual gearbox.

Any thoughts appreciated. Regards, Russell ....................

Front diff plenty high enough on lhs of motor about 1/2 way along. Transmission breathers at back of motor on top of bellhousing. Turn wheels to full lock and you can access them behind the rhs front wheel.

      Hi 404pug.

Thanks for the info, I will check & get them fitted soon.

I did a search of other posts & also found some info.

I'm finding my 2016 Prado a lot more technical than my 2001 TD Jackaroo that I had for 20 years & 300,000 km.

Lots of jobs to do on my 150 to get it up to what I want for touring & 4wding, Pradopoint will be a great help.

      Thanks again. Regards, Russell ..............

There is a whole thread on fitting the breathers. Often easier to search through Google to Pradpoint
