Hi all,
Can anyone confirm if the diff ratios in the 150 series GX and GXL are the same? I am looking at upgrading to a 150 series and going through the question of buying a GX or GXL, both of which have different tyre sizes. If I do purchase a GX I would look to get the GXL wheels from new and therefore am interested to know if the diff ratio is the same in both vehicles. The Toyota website lists them as being the same but I don't know whether to trust that information or not.
I currently have a 95 series RV which has smaller tyres than the GXL and Toyota put in a different diff ratio to suit. I did not know, nor think about this at the time of buying the vehicle. Several times I've considered swapping to the GXL size wheels and tyres for the additional ground clearance but the cost and effort to change diffs has put me off. I don't want to make the same mistake again.
