Google search says this is normal - mod pls delete


guys

I did a search for DAC but nothing came up so here goes

I used DAC for the first time on the weekend. Nothing major just general bush track to see how it works.

It sounded awful! It was like a loud grinding noise in the drive train before the brakes were applied? Is this normal? Should it sound like this or do I have a problem with the drive train somewhere?

Probably worth keeping, atleast I wont s^*t myself when I use it for the first time.

The noise is from your brakes. The engine is trying to drive the wheels through the pulsing ABS.

I had the same reaction first time we used DAC. :shock: :shock:
On a flatter road just increase the vehicle speed setting and the noise from the brakes reduces significantly. After a bit of playing around in the bush found it is very noisy down hill as it is using the brakes more to control the wheel speed. Noise also increases if there is any wheel slip or spin. The noise is just the brakes being applied via the ABS and then released again.

Even worse when the brakes are wet.

The manual says it is noisy. says it is normal.

Yep, perfectly normal.

Most of the time L1 will get you down a hill, but it's nice to know the DAC works and it does make navigating the odd tricky decent a lot easier.

i too have used it down some tricky slopes - worked an absolute treat.

it did sound horrible though - a lot worse than the TC.

at times i had to turn it off cause i was descending too slow!! (this isn't be a bad thing though)
