You are right, so Toyota deleted them on the facelift model? What year is it? (Shakes head)

Mine is a 2013. Strange that they would delete them.

Yes it is odd, according to Toyota's website :

Courtesy (dome) lights
- In footwellStandard
- Delayed/fadeStandard
Map lights - third rowStandard
Map lights - frontStandard
Map lights - rearStandard
Cargo lightStandard

- the VX and Kakadu have courtesy lights in the footwell so looks like they moved them for the up spec models. I'm have no idea why they would do this unless it is cost cutting. Having them in the doors made so much more sense

When I looked there was no wiring. Considering the VX and Kakadu models don't have them either I think it's unlikely. A real cost-cutting shame, in-door courtesy lights are a nice touch. You might have more luck putting lights in the foot wells. If I get a chance to look at the up spec models, I'll have a better idea of where to look for the wiring.

thats the kit I put in! I love it! The middle dome light has an adapter bulb for a stick on led pad with 24 leds, and that sucker is bright! If I was going to do it again I might contact the guy and ask if I could have another one of those for the rear light above the door instead of the normal led bulb. Would be more expensive but the panel is much much brighter.
I will also admit the map lights aren't crazily bright but I still prefer it over the dull yellow light the standard bulbs put out.
At the end of the day I'm happy with how it is. The prado glows in the dark when I unlock it and all the lights come on bright white.

I may just contact the guy and buy an led panel for the back anyway...assuming it fits...maybe it doesnt and maybe thats why its not in the original kit. That would make the kit perfect for me. I know I did say I was happy with the kit.....but I could be happier if it could be even brighter!

these kits contain about $5 worth of LED's you can buy yourself from ebay

I just got a deluxe set of LEDs for my 2012 Prado GXL from the LED LAD only $45 off of ebay 10 to 15min install.
And what a difference 10x brighter, awesome upgrade, better than in my 2008 120 series.

Well so he should, the kit was way over priced an I have changed 3 faulty LEDs in the last 12 months, not good enough.

In my 2010 150, ALL the light except for the rear cargo area light and the one in the roof above the back seat are T10 LED replacements. The other two are festoon lights. Find a seller who sells the most T10 LEDs for the least price so you have a heap of spares as they are all the same crappy quality, or put up with the lights that are in it ;-)
