LED spotlights

Hello,
Is anyone out in Prado land running led spots on their car. The salesman at work is trying to tell me to buy them instead of HID's. At $500 each they had better work. I am jst worried about the distance of the beam because that's my main factor when buying spots.

I think one or two people (I think Rusty may have) have purchased LED bars (either from Snake Racing or other) but they are a LOT more than $500. If you have a link to the specirfic LED spotties you are refereing to then please post so that we can actual get a feel for the specifics of what you are refering to.

The latest 4WD Action has a very informative spread on a Light Comparo, which covers off on Halogen, HID and LED technologies. The results are interesting and should help your decision on which way you want to go. Going by the results, LED's are pretty good when it comes to a spread and HID rules when it comes to distance.

i'm pretty sure i read somewhere someone had some beamshots of the LED light bar aye, looked to be pretty good. in fact a search up to the right of your screen will come up with heaps of threads and even a few vids on youtube.
