Has anyone tried putting a match in the interior light switch for the drivers door so the switch is held in? I assume it's the interior switch on the drivers door which triggers the chime. Of course you'd lose the interior light at night.

They just program the chime out in the ECU. Like how they cab program the remote to open/close the windows. Also, I you get the window feature from the remote function enabled, you can choose whether it includes the sunroof.

Might have to quiz them at the next service then..... or is this a Kakadu model only feature??

Toyota outright said they couldn't/wouldn't when I asked, way back when I started this thread. There was some BS about ADR requirements.

                      Hi there,

To stop the “Ding Ding” I fitted a small “Rocker Switch” ( from Jaycar) in the “B Pillar”, which allows me to select wether or not I want the “Ding Dings” to operate.

The “Rocker Switch” fits reasonably flush with the pillar trim, less chance of being bumped accidentally.

                      A couple of tips:-

Cut the existing door switch wire as far from the switch as possible, so the wiring doesn’t foul the seat belt behind the “B Pillar Panel”.

Solder the joints & cover with “Shrink Spaghetti”.

Fit the switch far enough towards the back of the pillar so it doesn’t foul the seat belt.

                      Links for pics.

This is not my idea, Phil, who I met at Charters Towers a few months ago gave it to me & it works a treat.

I know this is old now but i'm suffering the same affliction! If i cant get Toyota to disabled the chimes im going to go down the screw method.
When i click on the pictures from Wazza2 they are so small and blurred, i can see there's text on the images but cannot read anything. Does anyone have a link to the actual full size pictures? I'm a follow the pictures kinda person
