Hi everyone,
I'm currently in Broome - half way through a trip to WA and NT with a Complete Campsite camper trailer.
All has been going well until a coupe of weeks ago when I stopped getting charge to the trailer.
Setup is anderson plug to rear of Prado connected to a DC to DC charger in camper.
When the charger starts to increase load from an initial soft start there is a voltage drop to below 12.5 volts which signals the charger to stop charging....then voltage increases and charger starts again and on and on it goes.
Visited an auto electricain this morning and he thinks th eproblem is with the car's alterantor not delivering enough volts/amps. When maintaining 3000 revs the alternator is only delivering approx 13 volts - the electrician says it should be 14.4 or better and so when the load increases the drop off should not affect the charger.
This has only just started to occur. Wiring checked and OK. Variosu other tests at electrician all OK.
Wondering if any other forum users have experienced similar issue?
Trying to get into Toyota here in Broome - but peak holiday time and a long long line of people in front of me.
Any thoughts, help, advice most appreciated
