I purchased a 5 m roll from Ebay. You can cut every 3 LEDs. I then cut off 9, soldered a short pos and neg wire and then soldered to the terminals inside the overhead lights. Then used the sticky backing tape on the LEDs to adhere inside the light cavity. Cost per light: less than $0.50 I reckon. Used the rest to replace lights for rear section (strip connected to existing dome light) and in the Shhippshape car top tent and under the awning. Still have a lot left over. Total cost including wiring and switches, less than $30.

I just got the globe numbers and ordered "warm" LEDs from fleabay. Most were T9 including door courtesy lights and a few short festoons, best to measure them.

The LEDs give a really nice neutral light.

Anyone know what the fuse size is for this circuit? I'm looking at these 5W cree T10 LEDS but I think they will consume too much power.
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2X-5W-1-C...ht_3349wt_1170

I just want them in the lamps on the 2 rear doors. Could be handy when you've got a flat on the rear tyres at night and need some light.

Otherwise these 1W jobbies looks like they have a very good spread of light

Edit: Ah what the heck, ordered the 4x 1W lights to test.
I also ordered these 15 SMD 5050 LED panel. If they don't fit in the door lamps, I'll stick them in the footwell and connect it to a switch. I chose the 15 LED version as it seems to be the best bang for buck. There is quite a price jump to go to the 18 LED version.

These are the bulb types for the interior of the 120:
          Map 2x BA9S
          Centre dome 1x festoon
          Cargo 1x festoon
          Doors 4x T10

There is a reflective heat shield in the map lights. Suggest using LED panels of a square shape. Craigm has posted below the use of the 5 LED bulb version which would be better as it is then held in place.

Centre dome and cargo can take 48 LED panels.

A 3x5 LED panel may also fit if it is narrow enough.

A lot of the LED panels sold on ebay now contain the 3 types of adaptors - spring loaded festoon, BA9S & T10 (refer to 1st pic). So it is now a matter of selecting the panel size that will fit behind the diffuser of each light.

The choice in LED would be SMD 5050 as these give the highest output.

My lights are on order and total cost is under $13. Will report back with the results.

Here's a pic of what I put in my Map Lights... Plenty Bright which bounces off the reflectors as there are LEDs all around. (little fingers or long nose pliers) are required...

For those who are unsure how to get the cover off, use a small blade or the like on the side as per pic and wedge the cover off

You can see in this pic where the lens cover clips in. There's one on each side of the lens cover which it pivots on when turning the map light on.

Excellent pictures and instructions. Now that I can see that that type of bulb fits, I might get those if the LED panels don't work out.

                Craig,

Could you post the link to the fleabay seller for these?? They all vary in size a bit and don't want to find one that's slightly too big

Any chance you can post ebay links for the ones you've ordered Andrew?

                          Easy done

15 LED panel for the doors or the map light
                          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400460624...84.m1497.l2649

48 LED panel for the centre dome and cargo (note: I did not buy from this seller as these were given to me. The link below was the closest I could match as I believe the one I have aren't 5050 SMD but 3528 SMD but they are still very bright)

Did you order the one pointed out by Craig? I think that is a better fit for the map lights. I'm using the 15 LED panel cause I had already over ordered for the doors and will put them in the map lights. The LED panel will just sit on top of the diffuser and may move around a bit but the wiring connecting the panel to the bayonet fitting should hold it a bit..

This is one example 5 LED BA9S 5050 SMD I found

I actually ended up ordering both as it was only a few extra $$$, so that I can try them both and see which I prefer.
