Has anyone experienced radio problems when fridge (ARB) cuts in?
If so any suggested fixes would be appreciated.

Ive had problems like this in the past with cars, not fridges per say though. 99% chance you have a crap earth for the fridge. How is the power run to the fridge, do you have a dual battery or single battery. Did you install additional power outlets to run the fridge, do these earth to the body or back to the battery.
You cant go wrong if you run everything back to the battery (Positive & Negative/Earth) instead of just attaching to somewhere on the car that could be a bad earth, hence the problems your having.
My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.
Thanks Ryzz
I have had a dual battery system and a separate power outlet installed.
I will check to see if the earth goes back to the battery but suspect not.
May have the answer here.
Much appreciated

No worries mate, ive seen lots of bad earth problems over the years in high power stereo systems, all have been resolved by running back to the battery.

the only problem i have with radio interference is when i turn the spotties on, and the radio is on am, i have hids and the radio gets a distanct high pitch squeal over the top of a broadcast. cheers samo
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

Get better ballast's for your hid and the radio interference will go away. I run full hid lo/hi in my hsv and 150 with no problems, but the old ones I had on the rav4 were older/cheaper and killed the fm radio. Apparently the newer ones are digital anddon't have the interference.

Just discovered Major Radio AM Interference with EvaKool 47L Fridge especially when the compressor is running.
Initial investigation reveals the metal chassis the compressor and control unit is bolted to (on the end of the fiberglass fridge body) is not earthed or connected to the negative supply. I will wire this to the negative battery cable lead inside the unit using a short length of 2.5mm green earth cable.

Same with my ARB fridge with AM. If I can get an FM station all is fine. On AM seems to be mainly around 846 (Radio National here) if I can get another feed higher up the scale it seems to be OK. The fridge of course is operating right next to the side window antenna.

I have a 20 year old green Engel and it actually has a separate earth wire .The instructions say if it is not used radio interference may occur but I have never had a problem so have never used it. It does sound like an earthing issue somewhere.
