HID upgrade to GXL

Hi all,
I am interested in upgrading my lights to HID, can't see why they aren't an option as they are standard on the higher spec models, but there you go.
So what type have you used, have you upgraded only main beam or high beam as well, or should I just trade the halogen light force 170s for HID?

Just be mindful that changing over to HID is illegal in most states unless you have self levelling suspension.

I have the Lightforce 170 55w HIDs. It's a great light but need to try something different with the switch. I have tried to get away with a factory type switch from NewPro-Tech but does not seem to fit the bill.

Back to the HIDs.....seeing how clean the light is from the 170s I really want to upgrade to HID even if just for the main beam.

Interested in seeing what others have done as well.

It's illegal unless the lights are self leveling (not the suspension) and the lights have washers.
