Mounting options for Redarc BCDC1240

If anyone has installed one of these where have you mounted the charger. I am looking at either in front of the radiator somewhere or against the inner guard behind the airbox. If anyone has some photos that would be good.

I drilled 4 holes in the fuse cover lid and mounted it there.... (BCDC1220 but a 1240 will fit)

I had mine attached here on a bracket the workshop made up. Works fine, but you do get some interferance on AM radio (listening to cricket or footy) when it is actually charging, when not actually charging, it is fine.

I have a BCDC1220 mounted in my 120 series.

I just bought a strip of metal from a big hardware store, cut and bent it to size to mount the charger on the drivers side between the air box and the firewall.

I did it this way so I could use original bolt holes instead of drilling new holes into the guards.






You will have to excuse the mess in the engine bay after my trip, I will have to clean that up tonight.

I originally had mine bolted to the side of the second battery cradle but had dramas with it not charging properly I spoke to redarc they said it was getting too hot so I put it behind the grill haven't had a problem since

Thanks guys for the ideas and pictures. I ended up mounting it between the airbox and firewall. Fabricated a temporary bracket out of timber and secured with existing holes. Will fabricate a bracket when get back to work and will have it powder coated.
