Mounting UHF Radio.

Ok peeps Just a quick question (hope I don't stand on any-ones toes)Where have people fitted their UHF head-units ??
With so limited room in the consul I am wondering if any-one has made a roof consul to suit..I'm looking at a GME head unit (smallest i can find)and running the cables through the head liner and down the pillar..Has any-one else done this and are their any "hidden tricks" ??

Nope. I mounted mine under the steering column on an existing metal bar. If almost seems like it was purposely placed by Toyota to mount the GME remote head/handheld units. If you need guidance, don't hesitate to MSG me.

Department of Interia make a neat roof console
You will need ti drill through the roof lining and into the roof suports, its a bit dounting to drill into the roof space but the console lines up exact, measure many times & drill once to ensure you dont drill through the roof.
The cabling couldnt be any easier to run.

WOW Now that looks great !! I won't be running as many head units as you .. Why so many ?? A very nice looking and functional unit there..Looks like I'm off to the department....Thank you.

Once you've had a console in a vehicle you'll never be able to live without one again.

You do have to pay for the privilege though, they're not cheap.



Mine has room for two UHF's, one HF an I needed to keep car phone mic as far forward as possible as I use it a lot.
