Hey there everyone. Thought you may be interested in the dual battery install I recently did in my brother in laws 150 prado.
He wanted a larger capacity than is normally fitted in the 150, mainly to run his massive engle fridge for longer without deeply discharging the battery. So after a few measurements we ordered an optima d27f with a usable capacity of 66ah.
Now this battery is a big bugger at about 305mm long so a little bit of thinking was required to make it fit.
This is the bracket I knocked up.
The batter sits on its end and the bracket supports the entire end of the battery to spread the load. The tray is bolted to a heap of factory nuts serts it the guard.
Now in the pics the battery looks like it sits up a mile, but it fits perfectly and just (and I mean just) touches on the foam bonnet liner.
Hope the post turns out ok I'm doing it at work on my iphone.
Any questions just ask
Shane
