Me too Jasen but the fogs in a lifted 4wd are pretty much useless but are a convenient hole for some better lights.

Fog in WA can be bad, driving up to Collie one morning was like driving through a lake of milk only with less visibility. I want to see the sides of the road so I can spot those malicious bloody water barrels before they leap out in front of my pretty colour coded bull bar.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I fitted up the Narva lights this afternoon and after a couple of minor changes the brackets work fine. I will try and get some better shots tomorrow before I put the bash plates back on.
Following on from the previous picture of the brackets I had to slot the flat bracket to move the lights closer to the outer edge of the hole. When the light is squared up it needs to be effectively off centre.
Near side changed and drivers side still the fog light. Bit hard to tell but you can see the different reflector.
And here with both lights changed waiting for the sun to go away.

And some shots taken tonight. It is all a bit hard to see the effect since I don't have anywhere that resembles a typical bush track. I was pretty happy when I went out on the road and lit up the edges but didn't take the camera. I still need to angle the near side light a bit more to the left. I will attempt to get some shots on the road tomorrow after final fit up of the bash plates etc.
Here is low beam only. Not sure about anyone else's set up but my fogs made absolutely no difference to the low beam illumination so this could also be the before shot.
Low beam and the newly fitted driving lights. As I said I need to push them a bit wider. Will sort that out tomorrow in the garage.
High beam and spots
The whole shooting match.
The new driving lights in the bar show up the tank on the shed which doesn't show with the lights on high beam. The whole reason I wanted to fit these things was to get some peripheral track vision.
Once the brackets were sorted it was a quick job to fit the lights up. TJM simply soldered the fog into the Toyota loom so I cut that out and fitted some Narva 'waterproof' plugs to each half so I can change the lights back out if necessary.
I'm also considering fitting a light bar under the roofrack. I will run cables up onto the Toyota NS rails for power to this and also to get power from the solar panel so all I need to do is connect a couple of Anderson plugs once the rack is on the rails. I measured the distance between the rails and it is possible to get a 1m bar in there so that gives plenty of scope.Last edited by mjrandom; 03-08-2013, 10:15 PM.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I am happy with the distance, for example that house, which isn't really in the direct line because it is up the hill and to the left, is over 350m away. I know if you have HIDs, especially aftermarket kits, you can boil the milk in their fridge at that distance but I don't need that much light. I don't have HID lights and probably wont bother anytime soon. I was some sideways light for track work and lonely on the road stuff. I will get around to fitting a lightbar to the roofrack too but that wont be on the car very often. Narva make a low beam version of the 90mm light and that may have been a better choice but a little late now.
The tree on the fence line is over 100m away as is the tank.

I should have added I put an LED globe in the parking light bit and it is totally useless as a DRL so I left the bulb out altogether and just fitted the sealed housing. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

And my driveway, sort of like a track.
Low beam
Low and frogs
High only
High and frogs
I sketched up the brackets and then realised this morning when I scanned the images that I left off one dimension so I will fix that and post them up tonight.
Overall they do what I want so I will leave it at that.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Looks good MJ. Have bern thinking of a similar mod using the Vision X LED Light Cannons.

Steve those lights look superb but they are huge compared to the hole in the TJM bullbar. It measures 95 x 105 more or less, I guess you could mount these behind and get most of the benefit. Is the fog hole (careful Jasen) bigger on the OL bar? I looked at Narva LED lights but they were hugely expensive compared to the standard lights I ended up buying. Still not sure how the projector low beam would have gone. Maybe the low beam plus HID would give the best results and still cost less than a single Narva LED light! I did email a couple of other places overseas that had 90mm LED lights but none bothered to get back to me.
Please post up yours when you do them.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I had a look at a set in OL Newcastle and they look good and produce heaps of light. About the only thing stopping me doing it was the price tag. I can't remember exactly what it was but it was up there. I will double check today when I am there.
The hole on the OL bar is about 110mm so they would have to sit behind, I would also trim the plastic shroud on the bar.2013 Blue Storm D4D 150 GXL Auto, Opposite Lock Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, GME 3345 UHF + AE4018 Antenna, HR Tow Bar, TG150, HD Rhino Roof Racks, Foxwing, Dual Batteries, C-Tek DCDC Charger, ARB 47L Fridge, ScanGauge II, Internal Fishing Rod Storage, X-Ray Vision HIDs and LEDs, New PP Sticker.... Here are the bracket sketches. Sorry couldn't be bothered with CAD for such a simple thing.
I had to slot the holes in the flat bracket to fit the lights properly, I used 50 x 3 aluminium flat but you can get away with 40 x 3. Also with the angle I used 50x50 x 3 and had to trim about 10mm off the rectangular edge.
Be careful with the 11mm holes for the light supports the 3mm thickness is a bit much but thinner than that and the alumium is too weak so chamfer the holes a bit. Also avoid lots of test fitting because you will wear away the plastic edges.
These brackets worked for my Narva lights in my T3 bar so check if they look like the right thing before spending the 17 minutes you will need to make them up.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
