centre dash / instrument lights not working

Same here, I've looked under the center console, only plug I could see was power plug to the 12v socket, this has nothing to do with the climate control.

Did anyone find a solution to this, I don't want to buy a new climate control only to find out there's nothing wrong with the old one.
