  • Rear Door Courtesy Light Switch

    Hi Guys,

Got round to fixing another issue last night - replaced the courtesy light switch that was missing from the rear door.

It was pissing me off as I had to manually switch the light on, plus every time I unlocked the car to get something out of the back it would relock itself automatically due to a courtesy light not being triggered.

Never the less, was a fairly easy job, I installed and tested by hand, put the side plastic panel back, as well as the plastic cover to the back row seats, started packing up the tools and noticed the light stayed on. WTF....

Turns out, the door wasn't quite making contact with the switch - my only guess are door sag, incorrect courtesy light switch (wouldn't be the first time this dealer has f*cked me over huh?) or adjusting the rubber thingo that pushes on the switch.

I was able to bodge it up with a couple of spring washers to pack up side of the screw, and some electrical tape, but was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar?

Is the lock or anything adjustible? The is a slight rattle from the back door on bigger bumps, nothing major. I thought it was the gas strut others have indicated.

    Cheers,
    Kevin
