I checked my lights tonight and found the following;
Light Switch OFF position
all exterior lights are On (headlights, front parking lights, tail lights and number plate lights), but interior displays are not dimmed.
Light Switch Park position
as above but no headlights
Light Switch ON
same as OFF, but interior dimmed.
There is no noticeable difference in low beam output between OFF and ON....which I find just a little bizarre!!
So really the switch should be labelled Day and Night.
Not quite sure why so much time is spent trying to reduce electrical load for the sake of fuel economy and emissions, and then have all the lights on whether it's day or night. I might contact Toyota and see what they say.
