Car would not start. All the lights on the dash came on like normal could here the fuel pump prime up like normal but no sign of the strater motor engaging. Green light on starter button just flashing. I tried on 10 times moving the car stick even got the spare fob and still the same. I checked the battery 13 volts even jumped from the second battery. Called Toyota they had no idea except to tow truck it in. After nearly 2 hours car started like normal. I had the batteries checked and they are all good. This is the second time it has happened. Anyone else had this problem

The Smart Entry/Start function disengages the steering lock when you put your foot on the brake.
If the steering lock has pressure applied (ie: parking with steering at full lock) the steering lock cannot disengage. It can happen in other Toyota models with Smart Entry/Start function.
As some others have mentioned, if you ease on the steering wheel it should allow it to unlock.
