Check the fuse box as there may be an ignition source in one of the empty relay slots. You then need to check the current draw of the DRLs. If it is significant, you might want to consider running a relay.

DRL's with indicators
I've purchases a few simple strip DRL's from Ebay. The cheap ones are really not bright enough and were too cool in color. You could definitely tell it was a try hard DIY home job. For $10 a pair I was happy to try them. However some of the LEDs started to drop and dim and the car looked like it had missing teeth. Not a good look. As per this thread, I got on Aliexpress and got me a set of DRL's that go around the fog lights in the front bumper.
I eventually decided on a set of DRL's with inbuilt indicator lights. I would have preferred black as I don't particularly like too much chrome.
They cost me about $90 posted and came with wiring loom and control box. They are nice and bright and have a good color temp. About 4000-5000k. The LEDs for the indicators sit in between the main DRL leds and are much dimmer. The quality of the plastic moulding is average and the fit to the bar is acceptable but not fantastic. A few gaps here and there but not noticeable unless you squat down and have a good look.
Neat feature is that the white LED's turn off when the indicator comes on. Similar the the Jeep Cherokee's and some the European cars. The control box also connects to the headlights and turns the white DRL's off when you have the headlights on.
Blurry shot at night. It puts out plenty of light. You can see it lights up the ground in front of the car.
White LED's turn off when indicators are on. A little dim but still effective and easily seen.
Indicators at night. You can see the white DRL on the other side is still on.

I bought & fitted the same - my 1st purchase from Aliexpress! Delivered within the week and very pleased with the quality. The wiring is covered in a sheath but I added split tubing to increase robustness.
Went to Ashdowns (Nrt Brisbane) to get sockets to aid wiring - didn't fancy splicing inline signal/headlight feeds as conscious of warranty issues.. Ashdowns didn't have the plug/socket specs but advised to tap into the trailer signal at the rear of the car - which I did.
Install difficulty was OK-ish.. (for an enthusiast!)
- spliced wires nr trailer socket in rear(jack compartment) for indicators/headlight signal feed
- ran cable down passenger side, through firewall
- used power from ignition activated fuel heater - 25A (relay required, ref 150 thread on wire colours)
- mounter LED driver near horns under the front bonnet/radiator trim
Of note - hope the front factory indicator bulbs last a fair time - absolute nightmare to access to replace!
