I was having a clean early last year and found a set. I forgot I had them and can't remember where the came from. They have never been on any other vehicle I have owned. I put them straight on. They are both pencil beams, so they shoot a long way down the road. So far so good.

        Hi Smokey

I have Narva Ultima 225's with HID upgrades on my 120 with a Sovereign alloy bull bar.

Since they were fitted 4 years ago I have broken 3!!

All have cracked off at the base were the housing attaches to the mounting bracket.

To their credit Narva have replaced the housings and although they are supposed to be a new stronger design, the last one cracked off in the same spot after just 50km on the Finke River road last year.

They will no longer supply me with replacement as they say the lights are not designed to be put on an alloy bar as they move around too much. How many Prado's have sovereign bars???

Anyway that is my experience with Nava Ultima lights. I would suggest if you go off road do not put them on a alloy bar.

Thanks guys - pretty keen in them and was at Repco this morning checking them out - they have 25 % off for RACV members this weekend.

@Raydes- thats the cheapest price i have seen- thanks for the link!

@nichchap - steel bull bar mate so no issue there( if only i could stop looking at the BB and seeing it vibrate ....)

Thanks all good feedback . I was looking at some tonight on a 100 series Cruiser - HID units that had been for a number of years and apart from weathering look and work well. Proof enough they will do me. Although i have now been thinking about a LED light bar......damn internet.....

My experiences with the current narva lights is pay particular attention to the reflector, they seem to peel quickly on about half of them. Have seen a few at our local parts supplier waiting for a replacement. They are cheap though for what you get

I am currently looking for replacements for my set of Ultima 225’s. Had a set of 175’s on the Prado for many years and no problem. When the son sold his Patrol he gave me the 225’s of it and I fitted them to the Prado with sovereign bar and it wasn’t long before the housing cracked. They where the older single mount style. Narva replaced the housings with the new 2 bolt type mount. When I sold the Prado I mounted them on the new LC200 with steel bar then converted them to HID, very happy with the performance. Over the Christmas break when did some dirt road touring and they have cracked the housing again. About $70 for 2 new housings but I think it will be a wast of money. Thinking about the Britex X-ray Vision 220 HID, alloy case but only a single point mount which I think makes it a bit harder to get the alignment right.

175mm lights with HID inserts off ebay: Brilliant! I usually drive all night first night on a trip and at 90kmh you could never outdrive the beams. (If you go more than 100kmh at night in the NT you are an idiot IMHO. Black steers materialize from nowhere regularly.) Your eyes are just so relaxed with the HIDs, and because they look like cheap ar$e Narvas, nobody knocks em off like they do Lightforces!

I have 225 s with HID upgrade, the light is good and 4-5 years in no breakages. However since I put the light bar on, they only get used for highway driving.
