  • 12v ignition source for my DTRL

    Hi all

Installed aftermarket DTRLs today, i've ran the wire, cable tie everything, just need to find an easy 12v ignition source somewhere near the batt/fuel box, nothing heavy duty, just 5amp will do.

    Someone please help.

    Thanks

Yet to buy DTRL myself but with a 2014 altitude i plan to give it a nice cosmetic face light with some. My plan was to wire then straight to the park lights. Since they are when the engine is running anyway. For serious 4wd's i would suggest cutting the original wiring and using a 2 pin deustch plug.

How many amps do they draw? Also if you have standard parklights you might want to change them to LED to match. With the drop in amps through doing that i would think the standard fuse would be fine.

Park lights is not when engine is running but i believe you're talking about your factory standard DTRL. I do have LED T10 park light.

Have a look through here. Really easy if you have a D4D.
