IMHO the Rigid E2 Series LED 20" - Driving light is the pick of the bunch.

Has anybody got the Lightforce LED 215's on a 120 series with a Toyota Alloy bar?

I have decided these are the lights I want (they seem superior to the ARB option), but the fit will be tight, plus the Toyota bar has a moulded mounting point for central post mounting of lights, not the flat mounting bracket that Lightforce and ARB are doing with their LEDs.

I need to know how they will fit.

I made some brackets for the 185W LED lights to fit on the Sovereign bar. The top of the plate to the top tube is a short to fit the light on it's supplied bracket.

I bought Stedi LEDs on eBay. Sure they're cheap but for how often I'll need them I'm very happy. And who needs/wants to see 500 metres down the road.

Thanks guys. I'll do a bit more research.

Piney - those Stedi lights look reasonable - how solid is the mounting bracket from movement? The soverign bar shakes a fair bit on rough roads, and the last think I want is for the lights to droop... They don't appear to have a locking screw to secure them in place, other than the single bolt?

I run a pair of fairly cheap HID spotties in conjunction with an LED bar. Whilst the ARB and Lightforce LED options pack an impressive punch, they are essentially LED floodlights. LED's just don't offer the same distance compared to HID lamps, even with some of the advanced focusing systems around these days.
IMHO a combo of HID and LED is the best for my application (long distance night driving & offroad work). If I wasn't needing something that lights up roo's and melts bitumen at over 1000m, I would probably go an all-LED setup.

I'm replacing a pair of Bushranger Nighthawk HIDs with LEDS, as the Bushrangers are falling apart (rivets are slogged out of the housing due to rough road driving, and the amount the Toyota Sovereign bar moves around in those conditions. The LED lights coming out now seem to be well constructed in the housings, which is a good thing.

The other benefit of LEDs is that there is no warm-up time, the light is instant.

To be honest they haven't been on rough or corrugated roads yet but, the mounting system appears similar to others.

Update: I ended up buying a 20" single row just released Lightforce light bar ($465 from ORE). About 100W. First impressions out of the box - quality. Solid feel, solid mounting brackets, full IP19 waterproof. Just screams quality. Fitted last week and used a little bit down at Dwellingup on the weekend. Certainly made a difference but i don't think the short winding rounds made the best of it. I would say effective range about 200-330m with fall off to 400m.

Wont get a chance to test it properly until Shark Bay in September and that will be an excellent spot to test it out with wide open roads and hopefully, pitch black nights.

What made you decide on the light bar over the spotties?

Yes, and it isn't 500m assuming you are talking about reaction and stopping time.

Assume the Prado with decent tyres and suspension stops in 60m from 100kph (my GTS stops in just over 30) and it takes you 5 seconds to react...

100kph is 28 metres per second. So in 5 seconds you travel 140 metres plus the 60 metres you need to stop is 200 metres. In real life your reaction time will be much less, perhaps under 2 seconds and the stopping distance on bitumen is more like 50 metres. So around 100 metres all up. More on gravel obviously. More still if you are asleep.
