Wiring in centre console

Hi,

In my 2015 GXL I am about to have a Uniden 8080NB CB radio installed with the power coming from under the accessories socket in the centre console and the unit under the passenger seat. I will have a plug either in the console or between the seat and the console where I plug in the handset

I also run my mobile phone from the USB power outlet right next to the Acc socket and I would like to know if both of these outlets are on the same power feed and fuse. I am concerned that I might be overloading the power lead by having two things running off the same supply for hours.

Does anyone have any experience in this setup, good or bad ?

Hi I have a 2010 GXL I mounted the radio in behind the glove box and ran the power from the back of that Acc socket. Since you have a remote mike no need to see the radio. It started off under the seat but soon got covered in crap. The same with the USB if you look down at Wiring questions and advise #13 I moved the Usb to a more sensible spot. Sorry to answer you question No the usb is connected to the radio .
