It depends on where you want to take your trigger from in the car.

I took mine from the HB light wire under the dash, as it's obviously right here connected to the light switcher stalk. The only thing to remember is that it is an active-low trigger, meaning that to turn the lights on, the stalk actually earths the wire coming back from the headlight. Running active low wires through the car is a much safer way to do things anyway. Far less consequences if one should wear through and short on something.

Anyway, to physically connect it to the wire, I removed the plug from where it connects near the fusebox under the dash, then removed the pin from the plastic plug itself (This requires releasing the plastic locking clip, and then the metal tag on the pin itself with a tiny screwdriver), then soldered my own trigger wire to the back end of the copper pin, and re-inserted it into the plastic plug, after covering it with heat-shrink tubing for strain relief. Perfect join, with no cutting of the original wires required, and fully removable in the future if I decide that I no longer want it there. I could either cut it off neat at the back of the plug, or reverse the process and de-solder it from the pin.

I've also used this method to pick up constant power and accessories wires from under the dash, which I then use to drive various relays through switches to drive different things in my vehicle. It allows me to have the CB Radio, Cigarette lighter plug, and external camping lights on without having the key in the ignition. How I've wired all this in my Prado is probably worthy of a separate post, one of these days. I actually built a control box for my wiring which gives me override options for turning things off and on independent of the ignition, or having it set to trigger whenever the ignition comes on.

      Cheers,
      Matt.

Have a look at the Narva website for Driving Light Harness. Includes H4 and HB3 options to pick up the high beam feed, relay, switch, fuse and a Plug and Play harness to get set up easily.

That is my backup plan if I can't locate the plug and play connection.
Plan to put the Relays into the relay box on the passenger firewall. All wiring in convoluted tubing to look like factory fit out.

Plan to put the Relays into the relay box on the passenger side firewall. All wiring in convoluted tubing for neat installation, just have to work out where to put the fuses.

The 2 adapters are in the bottom right of the picture. The extra lead that goes downwards is where you plug the main loom into to get the trigger wire.

Works perfect on my BT-50 (modified to suit a light bar) and perfectly on my prado for the spotties. Putting a light bar soon on the prado roof cage so i'm just going to tap into these wire for the trigger

If you can get trade prices the kit cost me $60 through repco trade. Also bought a rocker switch to suit kit that plugs straight in instead of that crap one that comes with the kit.

Alternatively Ebay would be your best option retail is approx $95 i believe.
