  • IPF wiring loom - will it run LF?

    Hi all,

My Prado has standard IPF 900XS driving lights. Due to a lot of outback night driving I've decided to upgrade to some Lightforce HID XGTs. The question I have is will the IPF wiring loom run the new lights. The LF loom has much thicker wiring when you compare alongside, however, I don't particularly want to undo the existing loom if I don't need to.

Anyone run LF off another loom? I do note the HID runs lower than the IPF halogens however the startup of the HIDs draw a lot more power.

    Cheers,
    Dakkas

You'll be fine. Might just need to change the plug on the end.

If you haven't bought the XGT's yet, have you considered getting the HID upgrade kit for the IPF's? The upgrade works very well on the IPF's and will cost about $120

Already purchased them. Bought 2nd hand for a really cheap price considering they are genuine LF HID. The IPFs have been transferred to my ute - I may convert them at a later time but not a priority now.

I went LF as I know they are strong & a very good light. I also like the filters - particularly the combo filter.
