Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can say they've come across the same thing as me, that I'm not just crazy or installing these things wrong.
I've installed and used 3 separate SBI12 isolators in my cars over the last few years. I've come to the conclusion that they all dual-sense, even the ones that aren't supposed to.
They all work as they should by connecting the batteries when the main battery is at a high enough level, and isolating when the voltage drops on the main battery.
HOWEVER, if I wait until the batteries are isolated after driving the vehicle, then put a charger on to the aux battery, eventually the isolator will join the batteries.
So my thoughts are that the isolator is dual-sensing, or that the voltage in the main battery is somehow rising to the cutoff level.
Any thoughts/ideas ?
Thanks !
