Guys, i thought i share this as i had difficulty finding a solution when i started having trouble with my headlights (later found to be low beam)
So, i've got a 2012 Prado Kakadu. Headlights started going off individual after 40-60 seconds.
Took back to Toyota service and they charged me $150 to run a electrical diagnostic and determined HID lights carry only 12 months warranty.
Guy didn't tell me specifically that a ballast controlling the HID lights is faulty and not the lights itself. "Bad news is, it cost $950 for a pair, plus $150 install"
Now, i refuse to let you fellow Members get ripped off. I wrote to Toyota and told them his is highway robbery.
Ok cut the long story short. Guy on eBay from USA California, bought a pair of OEM by Denso Ballast for $250 ($30 delivery) landed in Australia.
Turned out to be original Toyota ballast same ones in my car. Dense Makes ballast for Toyota and Lexus.
See now what i mean by robbery? 400% margin, must be a lot of middle man!
