Hi Pradopointers. My 2011 Prado Diesel (Manual) is turning 5 soon. It is still under extended warranty, so I purchased one of those cheap Techstream cables in order to check the injector feedback values. All good. I was just having a look around at the various Techstream settings and after I was finished I noticed that the internal alarm/buzzer (beep beep) went off as soon as I opened the driver door. Door close, no buzzer. Door open and it beeps. At first I wondered if I had changed some sort of setting, but I had not and could not find anything. Lights were turned off, ignition was off, so very strange. In the end, I disconnected the battery, which "fixed" it. A week later, during starting the car this morning, I heard a very short beep. The kind you hear from the reversing sensors when you start in in reverse (manual). Anyway, drove a bit and when after turning off the ignition, open the door and it beeps again. This time, just closing/opening the door again "fixed" it. Does anyone know what this buzzer/alarm may indicate, or is it just an anomaly? Could it be that my battery is on its way out and a lower voltage "upsets" on of the ECU's? I find it strange that I never had this issue until connecting the Techstream, but it had been fine since disconnecting the battery. I can't see any error codes. When using the Techstream, I had the ignition on but engine off for quite some time, thus my thoughts around the battery voltage. Cranks well though. With the car still under warranty, I just want to be sure that nothing is amiss, although I hate the thought of Mr Toyota "troubleshooting" this.
Thanks, Fred
