Retrofit 2nd Start Button to Alt / Kaka

Bit of a long shot, but wondering if anyone has (or knows if possible to) retrofit the older style 2nd start button in the dash.

Our altitude has it in the steering wheel / dash menu and it takes a few too many clicks to be useful in anger really, so I've generally stopped using it... Not sure if its the same in the current models or vx / kaka's etc

Wondering if the wiring loom for the button is still there and it's a simple matter of whacking in the button.

my guess would be the wiring loom would have the plug
But i don't think it would be a simple matter of installing the switch.
the ECU would be looking for the signal coming from the steering wheel / dash control.
there are spare plugs everywhere and most of them do nothing as they are not programmed into the ECU for a particular model.
