    I have a 2016 gx prado and I am putting a pair of the FYRLYT's nemesis 9000 lights on it. They have the 24 volt step up tranformers and draw from what I have read about 40amps?

    I also want to run a fridge, a couple of stereo amps, UHF and some external LEDs for camping. Clearly a dual battery set will be required.

    I don't know anything about alternators in these vehicles however would it need to be upgraded ?

    I have it on my 120 , and it certainly produces extra voltage to battery (approx .5)
    Only have the 2nd battery in back for 50l waeco

      Personally i wouldn't touch the alternator in my new 2016 GX Prado, not while it still under warranty. I just installed a second battery in the rear cargo area with a DC DC charger..The UHF and external LEDs draw little, and I got a 125aHr battery and it is fine for the fridge and lights and UHF etc...

      Keep it simple, run a 6 AWG B&S positive and negative cable from the start battery to the rear area through the chassis with the cable in split convoluted tubing, with a fuse in the positive close to start battery and a DC DC charger and another fuse in the positive cable close to the secondary battery. I used a CTEK D250S DC DC charger. So far its been perfect, and I am now running my 50L waeco 24/7
