2nd battery power socket to the rear

Hi All,
I am installing a 2nd battery in the engine bay of my 2016 150 series. As well as a 12 volt socket in the rear I am wondering if I can cut the power cable to the 100 watt 3 pin plug and and reconnect it also to the 2nd battery? I want to do this as I find the 3 pin useless as you can only plug a fridge in when the ignition is on.

I am about to do the same with my 2017. Have you found an answer regarding the rewiring of the 100W inverter ?

Leave the factory wiring alone. Use a separate feed for any extra sockets you need.

I want to do the same instead of adding my own inverter why not save the money and just rewire the feed to the factory install unit to the second battery so it’s on all the time?

Factory inverter is tiny and not pure sine wave. Better buying a decent unit and wiring that.

I simply went out and bought a 600watt inverter and bolted that to the cargo barrier. BTW I tapped into the heavy guage cable running from the aux battery to the anderson plug that feeds the camper trailer.

Had my second battery installed this week. Auto sparky not allowed to touch the factory power outlet - different power rating from what they are allowed to work on. Had 3 cig sockets fitted in rear, controlled via dash switch (on and off) and dual volt meter, plus Andersen plug for solar charging, plus Andersen for trailer on tow bar. dual usb under dash for phone charging. etc. Neat and very tidy job, just exce, but I’d rather pay a pro than dodgy up something myself. Covered with warranties is reassurance.
