Replacing reverse camera 2013 PRado 150

i want to replace the existing reverse camera on my Prado. has anyone done this ? and if so what do they recomend?

I changed mine when I changed head units. Cannot remember what it was and I don't think there was much between any of the options but if you are using the factory cabling the Tojo camera runs on 5V and aftermarket are 12V so you will need new power wire.

you looking at the Ebay replacement cameras ? Toyota use NTSC , generics use PAL. and as MJR said they should be 5v. If you get stuck or have a power supply issue there are 12v to 5v Toyota adaptors available on ebay too.
Toyota cameras are powered on whenever ignition is on to make sure they can feed video as soon as reverse is selected. on some other cars you need to wait for the camera to boot up when you select reverse , can take a bit longer.

Question!! If I replace the head unit in a 2013 GXL and use the existing original camera will my reverse display be better than the original? I find the original lacks colour definition and am not sure if it is the camera or the display! I also want the head unit to display reverse lines. Anyone have any experience/advice please?

A can't really answer your question about the video image on your 2013. All I can say is that the picture on my 2017 GX (MY2016) is pretty damn good for an analogue system (camera and head unit are original). I have also tapped into the camera wiring near the tailgate, added switching and a waterproof socket for when towing our off-road caravan. With 7 extra metres of cabling and a $15 reversing camera, the image is not quite as good but pretty damn clear, all the same.
