  • Dealer says no driving lights or led bar??

I have the opportunity to spec out a new 2018 GLX for my work vehicle. The business owner is insistent on having the dealer fit all the gear. I had asked for an led light bar or spots to be included only to have the dealer say they can’t fit any lights to the genuine Toyota bar as it will interfere with the toyota safety sense monitoring system which apparently send/receives signals from the toyota badge in the grill.

Are they having a lend of me? What have others done to avoid the issue?

Talk to people at ARB etc - they advised that lights/light bar should not interfere with the adaptive cruise control via the Toyota Badge

There is hardly any room on the genuine bullbat to fit any decent lights - its not deep enough

Yes, and Toyota dealers can fit ARB gear to your new truck no probs. Never liked the Toyota bars.

Thanks guys, after further discussion with the dealer today he said there may be some round style driving lights that may work without interfering. Now the hunt begins for the best lights in not too large of a diameter.....

Hi Vanders, hope you’ve been able to source some lights.

Ive just read this thread and thought I would point you towards Toyota’s own website. Toyota have an image of the current 2018 Prado with their alloy bull bar and albeit, small round driving lights. You can find it on the main Prado page on Weekend Getaways.

What lights are you thinking about going with?
I am tossing up between some Intensity's or some 215s.... I believe they might be a tad tight on the factory bullbat from Toyota - hence why I am planning an ARB bar
                Thoughts?

It seems like STEDI had the competition lights set too high, Not really a legit comparison,

The second video has them set correctly with much better coverage.
