Is the aux battery neg directly connected to the main battery neg and/chassis? If yes then yes. In mine I ran a common neg point. Neg from both batteries to that point and also the bcdc.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Thanks. Thought I could simply things. Pulled my BCDC from the engine bay and put it in the back. The engine bay is too restrictive in terms of the size of the battery. Mine is a 2010 model without the reinforced guards. Working through some floor and battery box options for the rear.2010 Prado 150 GXL Diesel, Cooper AT3, ARB compressor, Catch Can, Redarc BCDC 1225, Projecta DBC150, Optima YellowTop and RedTop D34, Pioneer Backbone Platform

Have a look at my build, I have a BCDC1225 in a custom box in the back. You can do the same with a proprietary plastic box too as we have done in the long gone Colorado and 80. I ran 6B&S twin core to the box. Positive to BCDC infeed and neg to a common point. Rest of the wiring as per Redarc's suggestion with a changeover relay. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Thanks for the advice. I ended up mounting the bcdc in rear on the outside of the cubby holder space with an anderson plug for connecting the battery pack. I ran 4b&s postive and negative cable to the back. Should have done solar connection but are still undecided whether I want to drive around with a solar panel on the roof all the time. 95% of the time I park undercover. Thinking, if am going to build a more permanent battery box in the rear, I can get a larger battery than my fullriver 120ah. Still have to make decision about wether I remove the rear seats...decisions decisions2010 Prado 150 GXL Diesel, Cooper AT3, ARB compressor, Catch Can, Redarc BCDC 1225, Projecta DBC150, Optima YellowTop and RedTop D34, Pioneer Backbone Platform
