  • Electrical Connector under sill

Some wiring under the sill of my GX has broken away from its plastic mount. There are 2 of these connectors, one on each side, located under the sill of the car towards the rear of the front doors. Wiring comes through the floor from under the front seats but this wiring doesn't appear to connect to anything. I'm assuming this is for something like a step light wiring or something else on upgrade models.
Anyone know what these connectors are for & is there a problem if they get broken off or damaged?
    Thanks

Yep, it feeds the lights under the runner boards on my Kakadu that not only light up the step but also the ground underneath. It's quite a nice feature if you're into car-based camping. I've replaced mine with LEDs and when I'm huddled under the Foxwing awning with the doors open, it adds a nice ambience. Since the wiring is already there on yours, it might be as simple as tacking an LED strip to the bottom of the runner board.

Thanks, didn't think they were for anything major but good to confirm their use. An idea worth thinking about to add some light underneath.
