Lock the vehicle and keep ACC running

How do you lock the doors with ACC engaged (running a dual battery and fridge) and the vehicle in Neutral (so as to avoid the 20min ACC timeout)? I'm getting the constant alarm noise if I try and even the physical key lock doesn't stop it. Very annoying to try and keep beers cold when parked in town!

This in an auto D4D.

Apologies if this has been answered already but a search didn't throw anything up.

EDIT: for what it's worth on the answer to the topic heading, I'm 99% certain that you cannot lock an auto 150 whilst the vehicle is in N and the accessories are on. This seems to be a safety feature. What I actually need to achieve a fridge running constantly from a second battery is dedicated wiring from the aux battery, as Atherton and xlr8_87 point out in their responses.

If your electrical system is wired up correctly then you shouldn't need to keep it running- Your fridge should be plugged into a socket that has power from the second battery all the time.

Ah... I've installed a dual battery isolator from jaycar (link below) but switching the engine off also switches the fridge power off. Do I need more wiring to keep the fridge socket off the vehicle ignition?

I'm not an expert on any of this by any means, but it looks as though all you've got is a second battery that's being charged. If you want to run a fridge off it while the ignition is off then one way of doing this is to wires from the second battery to whatever your fridge plugs into- Many people install anderson plugs in the back of the car or use 12v plugs.


EDIT: It's honestly worth a carton of beer or two to get a mate who knows what they're doing to show you what you need (and how to do it). Playing with electronics on new vehicles can be an expensive and dangerous hobby if you don't know what you're doing.

What's your fridge plugged into? If it's plugged into the factory 240V point in the rear of the car, that will switch off when accessories are off as it's wired to the starter battery. If you've had a new fridge point run off the 2nd battery, something is wrong with the wiring up of your isolator or the new point itself.

The fridge is plugged into one of the 3 factory 12V cigarette sockets, all of which switch off when ACC is off. Haven't tried the 240V as I wasn't sure about the inverter but as you say that will have the same issue. Sounds like I need to wire the fridge direct to the 2nd battery in some way.

Which seems pretty obvious now I think about it. I'd assume some fuses at either end of the wiring wouldn't go astray too

Yep you need to get a dedicated plug back there that runs straight off your 2nd battery. If you're handy you'll be able to do it yourself otherwise take it to an auto elec.
Definitely needs a fuse
