Is the 2018 any different in that the corner to the 2017? If not any of TJM, ARB etc should fit . The TJM one is good because it has an extra top mount to the front.
Thanks 404pug, I thought it was different but it appears as if it isn’t. I was thrown by the lack of pre threaded holes which I thought were there in the earlier 2.8’s. It just looks like a couple of holes need to be drilled to install one. I salvaged mine from my 2013 model only to find it is totally different.
I bought and fitted the ARB tray to my 2018. Same unit that fits previous model. I did flatten out one end so an 85AH battery fitted in, it also comes complete with mounting plate and bolts for the Redarc BCDC charger. No extra drilling required.
Thanks for that. I will give them a call tomorrow.
I've got answers from ARB too, their trays support 10 inch battery (255mm) and up to 21kg. The battery they recommended was NS70TX 260mm 82ah 18.6kg.
I've also found a battery tray from offroad downunder website, the max size of battery could go was N70T 306mm 100ah 25kg. Just wondering it could be no mounting place of isolator like what ARB ones do.
So is there anyone has put the battery tray from offroad donwunder on 2018 prado yet? any advise please?
If you have the 2015 - 2017 2.8 (not sure about the '18 model) you can simply use a plastic battery tray like the OEM one. Standard battery clamps tie it down and run a small length of flat-bar across the top to the front panel to lessen the chance if it rotating.
Cheers
Micheal.
