I've just picked up a LED light bar to go on the bull bar along with the existing TJM LED spotlights. I'm looking to trade the car in the coming months and it will go with either the spotties or light bar. In the meantime I'd like to temporary wire the light bar in so I can see how it goes. That and I'm doing a lot of night KMs and the dry weather has bought the Roos, deer and goats out to graze the road side. My question is can I simply add the light bar to the existing harness? If so is there a plug and play option with the DT connectors from the light bar to the existing harness.

If you were to tap into the existing spotlight harness you need to consider the extra 10amps or so the new lights would draw, ie is the power line adequate to handle the extra amps the new light draws and if so you’d need to upsize the fuse to cope. Alternatively if you’re going to run one or the other but not both sets of lights at once, tapping into the existing spot light positive and finding an earth should b3 fine assuming they’re similar watt lights. I’m not aware of any harness you could plug n play as such.Last edited by Pradosaur; 24-06-2018, 09:11 PM.2018 VX Prado

Thanks for the advice. I still haven't done the install. I did buy a Y harness, but it wasn't until it arrived that I discovered that the light bar was 2 pin DK and my existing LED lights are 4 pin DK. I'll get it sorted out when I get a chance, at the moment I'm trying to work out why I've blown 2 head light bulbs in under 24 hours, but that'll be a separate post.
