How to remove/change sun visors' light bulbs ['18 GXL]

Hi everyone,
I'm looking at removing the factory incandescent wedge bulbs for the sun visor's lights to change to LEDs (probably T10), but can't find anyway of popping the cover out to get to the bulbs. Could anyone please shed some lights?
I've changed all other interior lights, they were all fine to get to, but couldn't find anywhere to stick my flat-head screw driver in.

I was looking at doing the same thing - sorry cant help you but will research it and ask my dealer as I have a service on the 7th Dec so Ill get back to you.

What globes did u use on the other three sets of internal lights - I too have a GXL

hi Tom,
I finally figured out how to remove the cover. It's quite simple actually. There is a retainer clip on the left hand side of the Driver's Side one, and on the right hand side of the front passenger's one. Use a flat tool to depress that retainer clip and it should be able to release the entire unit from the ceiling (not just the cover). Then, you can carefully pull the uni out, and remove the cover to get to the bulb.

The other three sets of interior lights are as follows:

1. Front map lights (2 bulb): T10 Wedge, I used the same T10 wedge LEDs as photos above for those two lights. Got them from eBay, if you need the link just let me know, I'll send you an email with the link.
2. Center dome light and rear dome (cargo area) light: they use a festoon type for these two areas. You can fit in 31mm long festoon LEDs for those areas.I didn't do that, I bought a panel LEDs with adjustable festoon end to fit in. The housing was big enough to fit the panel. This is what the panels look like (not necessarily the correct measurements, but close):

The panel is brighter than the single LED, and I reckon the colour temperature is nicer as well.

appreciate the feedback and post - well done on that and Im sure you researched it bigtime. I did a similar thing on my old TLC 100 series on its roof console and led lights make a HUGE difference. The little things on a new 2018 Prado make all the difference. I only drive the Prado on weekends and use the old TLC to the train station during the week till its sold. I end up with withdrawal symptoms driving the Prado till the weekend lol
