Failed Head Unit - Toyota fix free?

My 2014 facelift 150 GXL series headunit died last week - went into a constant reboot mode.

There are a few old posts on this forum and on the web indicating this was a regular occurrence when they first came out but I could not find any indications Toyota recognised it as a known fault. I went to a dealer today and asked them to fix it Free despite it being out of warranty. They said they would ‘talk to Toyota’.

Has anyone else had any joy getting a headunit replaced out of warranty?

Sorry this is a bit late, but we have had the headunit replaced when it was out of warranty for no charge. I cant remeber the brand - Fujitsu?, but it was replaced out of 'Goodwill'...
