  • Trailer wiring harness issues. Blinkers not working

    Hi Guys
2018 Prado with factory trailer plug installed. Can anyone help with a trailer plug issue. I have break lights to the trailer normal lights when my head lights are on. I don't have blinkers to the trailer however.
Trailer plug is fine on my vehicle is in good condition and all wires intact..
Trailer lights work on the other car so the trailer is fine.
Prado is working fine with all lights and blinkers
Does anyone know where the trailer plug fuse is as it does not seem to be labeled under the bonnet?
    Any other likely culprits?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Check all your fuses.
The factory trailer harness uses a power feed from the car to work the relays for your trailer indicators.
As it would be odd to blow both relays, I'd check that they're actually getting power.

      Hi Carco
The fuse box seems to not have a specific placement labeled for the Trailer harness. Any idea which spot they place it?

Sorry haven't had to delve into the fuse box yet. It may be marked something else, like rear power outlet or similar.
I'd just check all the fuses.
If you're keen you could go down the left rear corner, remove the jack etc and find the trailer wiring harness. Then multi meter the pins.
Would be a nuisance if there was power there but no negative or something silly like that.

Yes I agree. I will start with the harness etc in the back corner and then try and work out where the fuse is (and label it for next time).
          I will post the result.
          Thanks

The end result was fuse, relay and plug all ok. White plastic connector up behind the left rear panel was not pushed in fully.
In the end just needed to push the connector in until it clicked and locked in, cannot come loose.
            thanks for the help.
