  • 2014+ prado double din fascia help

    hey

    first up, hi from ireland!

there isnt much in the way of info around the prado on the forums over here, so I said I would tap the knowledge of you lot!

i've upgraded my 2015 prado's speakers to a nice set of focals, and added in sub too, but still running on the stock head unit.

    this fascia is available,

but I believe you have to take the top vent piece off the stock headunit and re-mount it to this fascia. has anyone on here done this already? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So it turns out that its a bit of a pain, but doable.

    short version is
1: take the head unit out of the car,
2: then using 6 hands, plus an extra hand to push the vents out, you release the 6 tabs on the back of the air vent piece, then wiggle it out.
3: remove the two "spikes' on each side of the head unit that clip it into the dash (there are 2 screws at the base of each one) for a total of 4 spikes and 8 screws
4: this gives you access to the 4 small screws that hold the radio to the vent fascia. two are visible at each end, but there are two that are somewhat hidden about a quarter of the way in from each side.
5: once all those screws are out, you have the required piece, and can re-attach to the bottom double din fascia

hope thats of help to someone

Thanks tmg, you saved me, I couldn't work out how to get that apart! I'm halfway through upgrading my dead factory head unit from my 2014 GXL to a Kenwood 920WDABS.

I'm not sure how the existing metal mounting brackets hold the new head unit, there appears to be some metal tabs in the way. Has anyone installed one a double DIN in this series of Prado before?

For you to pick the perfect eye makeup cleaner pads, you should understand your skin. The sensitivity of the skin in each woman varies; some stand up to the chemicals of a cosmetic while others do not. You need to know which makeup remover pads are the best for your eyes, so you avoid harming them or having an allergy to a poor product.
