  • Trailer lights not working after wiring up dual battery

Okay wired up a dual battery running wires from my main battery with appropriate 100w fuse across to second battery. Ran wires through to dc to dc unit then fed wire to back of vehicle to run the fridge.Returned from a trip at the Cape no problems with the fridge and wiring, connected my caravan to the car and only the left hand blinker works.Have checked out the wiring all in tact from plug of car and caravan plug. Connected my box trailer same as caravan only left blinker works. Question, Is there a fuse or sensor that could be causing the no lights problem as checked all the fuses nothing blown

If the wiring to the car trailer socket is done using the the Toyota wiring loom, there is a "Trailer ECU". This basically repeats the signals for the blinkers and tail lights etc to the socket on the car.

The "trailer ECU" is located in the quarter panel where the jack is. It is possible that the connection between the car wiring and the trailer ECU got disturbed when the wiring from the fridge was put in.

Details of the wiring are found at the following.

You should be able to trace the wiring in and out of the Trailer ECU and see where the signals go.
