  • charging from the inbuilt inverter

Hi - a question for those more electrically educated than me.

I have a portable lithium battery (20.8Ah 225WH) that i use for charging camera batteries, computer etc when not driving. Wondering what the cons are of charging the lithium battery from the 220V rear cargo socket vs connecting straight to the car 12v. Reason i ask is i have the lithium battery on the back right side of the car (near the 220v outlet) but my 12v outlets are on the left side. Only need to recharge while driving.

    Over to the brains trust.

Depends on the AC charger power rating. You are limited to 100w draw from the AC outlet so technically its ok as long as your battery charger draws less than that. However, recommend sticking to DC-DC charging as its more efficient.
